Greg Houle, B.Sc., M.Cl.Sc., Reg. CASLPO, Audiologist

Director of Brant Hearing Aid Clinic

Greg Houle is a native of Espanola, Ontario. He attended Espanola High School and participated in athletics — especially football and track and field.

He attended the University of Waterloo, where he played varsity football. He graduated in 1979 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. He studied audiology at the University of Western Ontario’s program in communicative disorders from 1979–82, where he obtained his Master of Clinical Science degree.

Greg started his career serving as an audiologist at Laurentian Hospital in Sudbury from 1982–85. While he was there, he established a mobile hearing clinic that provided hearing services to underserviced communities in North Central Ontario.

He moved to Brantford in 1986, where he joined the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at the Brantford General Hospital. He served this institution with distinction, winning an award for outstanding service, until late 2003. He joined the Brant Hearing Aid Clinic/Brantford Audiology Clinic on a full-time basis in early 2004. In 2007 he became director of the clinic.

Greg has also served on the Brant Area Committee of the Canadian Hearing Society. He has appeared at public functions and local television programs on a number of occasions, promoting public awareness of hearing loss.

He is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). He is also a member of the Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA), the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA), and the Canadian Academy of Audiology (CAA). He has participated vigorously with these associations on behalf of the profession of audiology and the needs of the hard of hearing.

Greg has worked hard over the course of his career in keeping pace with the rapid advances in the field of audiology. He consistently exceeds by a wide margin the minimum requirements for continuing education.
